Rolex are beautiful watches and very reliable. It is a pity that they have become so associated with vulgar new rich.

I actually think the cyclops (which is what the date magnifying glass is commonly known as) is a special feature of the Rolex.
@rarebear14 Rolex is a nice watch, but it’s more for the name. There are plenty of watches out there that perform equal to, or above Rolex. And for a lot less than 60 grand….
@rarebear14 Says what, that somebody has a lot of money to piss away? I’ve been diving professionally for 30 years. Commercial and Military. I swear by Omega Seamasters. I don’t wear it to make a statement. I don’t wear it while drinking afternoon tea, or playing squash… I wear it to use it. The Speedmaster you used to compare is NOT a Seamaster. Two very different watches. Try and compare a Rolex Sub to a UTS Dive Watch. The UTS will eat it for lunch…

You’re comparing apples with oranges. Rolex Sub vs. Omega Seamaster Professional or Rolex Cosmograph Daytona vs. Omega Speedmaster Professional would be a more appropriate comparison.

I have both watches, and i must say i prefer the rolex for three reasons, it looks better, its more comfortable to wear, and its the watch originally worn by Bond. i dislike the date one too the non date looks a lot cooler. But i’m a IWC man myself now they have it all.
@adebabadebab I love seiko also, have you seen some of what they are coming out with in basel 2010?
